E.A. Draffan trained as a Speech and Language Therapist working with those who have communication difficulties whilst specialising in assistive technology. This was followed by several years of work related to special needs at secondary level and then the establishment of a regional Assistive Technology Centre at the University of Sussex and membership of the JISC TechDis team. Currently, E.A. enjoys working on an assistive technology database, 'EmpTech', which helps to keep her up to date with supporting technologies and e-learning environments, whilst trying to see what works best for those who use assistive technologies!
