Digital Inclusion
- Emergent concept of a continuum rather than a dichotomy
- The outcome of digital inclusion is viewed as:
- productivity and contribution to society (in terms of getting work, being economically self-sufficient and being a good citizen)
- Equity
- Autonomy, independence
- Practitioners are encouraged to focus on the characteristics of the digitally excluded in order to identify barriers that they can seek to explore and reduce
- Access to or ownership of technology-give it to them
- Skills, confidence, capability- educate them
- Attitude- motivate them
- Differential use- Show them
